Artist Statement:
Tea Party 4 Two? marks the beginning of De’s exploration of reclaimed tea bags as a creative medium. Used tea bag filters papers are dried, emptied and hand-dyed, then layered into a soft, atmospheric ground.
The silhouetted scene, formed entirely from reclaimed tealeaves, reveals more characters the longer you look. What first appears as an intimate exchange between two unfolds into something larger, playful and unexpected.
