Artist Statement:
Transforming a humble, discarded material into a garment that suggests both protection and performance. Aluminium tabs are reworked through slow, repetitive process to form a structured, armour-like collar.
The title Strike a Posse plays on collective action and quiet defiance. The piece gathers small, overlooked elements into a unified surface, where strength emerges through accumulation rather than force. At once ornamental and defensive, the form frames the body while subtly referencing historical ruffs and ceremonial dress. Balancing fragility with resilience, the work invites a closer look at labour, value, and the afterlife of materials we typically discard.
