‘The Music Within’ moves to the studio
Time to get the behemoth of boxes to the studio, although not convinced that is the best place for them yet.
Very grateful for Michelles’ help with unloading and sharing the climb with boxes to level 2 – she had to walk from the apartment as well – no room in the car for a passenger.
My family joked that I’d brought my most petite friend as a travel buddy – yet still there was no room for her on this trip.
Took advantage of the loading zone in Woobys Lane and started the transfer. In coming days she would be unpacked just no time at the moment.
Tasmania is delivering some wonderfully clear sunny days – just a little chilly in the morning. It seems strange to me but 4pm seems to be the warmest part of the day
Artwork progress
* Put another layer of tissue on the mannequin for Invizzy Lizzy and her dental bra – black hands are a creative hazard at the moment. So close to ticking the box on this one – where’s that list.
* Bottle top lily pads are looking good and growing slowly across the floor at the Old WoolStore. All of them have migrated to the unit and cover most of the lounge room. It magically looks finished but I’m only about half way…no sewing tonight I’m off to BCF for more fishing line. Officeworks to collect my printing and Bunnings yet again for returns and spray paint to name a few.
* Ahh where is my neighbourhood when you need them – at home I’d put a call out on our street FB page and someone would raid their shed for a spool of old fishing line….missing you guys.
* It is day 6 and I now have artwork in progress across both the apartment and the studio, busy night and day. I’m in my element. But struggling a little with what tools are where when I need them.
Howard Hadley Gallery Recon
Spent an hour at the Howard Hadley Gallery facetiming with Liz and trouble shooting display options, tricks and hurdles. It is almost a daily visit on my way home to check a tiny detail or in tonights case a major one. I need to fill a large space with a walk through arbor and the reuse shops have not answered the call as yet.
Time is flying
Chasing little things that have to be done is quite time consuming and oh course I talk a lot with everyone I meet which doesn’t help my time management. I’ve pretty well ditched the social media and choosing to experience here and now…..time later to share…..just keeping a diary.
Meeting fabulous creatives at every turn, there is a definite vibrancy to Salamanca Arts Centre and Hobart in general. Invites to upcoming exhibitions, one right outside my studio door this week. Can’t walk home without stumbling upon a gallery or hotel with some sort of action or event taking place. This place must be crazy in summer.
