DAY 2

Hadley’s Art Prize Residency

Need More Carpet

We had such a productive day yesterday and it seemed to go on forever. We achieved so much and I’m still not 100% sure it was only one day.

Saturday is Salamanca Market Day so we took it down a notch, took the day off and played tourist for the day

Well….technically we did include a short stop or two to buy more carpet.. Not enough carpet on the roll at the first stop so we had to visit a second store – probably something to do with people generously measuring LOL.

So glad we emptied the car last night.

Tourist trail

The weather is absolutely beautiful at the moment, the clear blue sky and sunshine offsets the crisp morning chill. A perfect day to take the car for a spin and explore the countryside – with the seat warmers on oh course..

Lyndal had offered some recommendations so off we headed to Willow Court New Norfolk to find ‘Flywheel’ a letter set/printing shop, numerous opshops and a very retro ‘Cake Lady Cafe’.

Keen to catch an exhibition called ‘Open the door’ at the historic Ladies Cottage before it closed. The latter was really well executed within the walls of the old asylum. I couldn’t select one photo so I screenshot the collection . The town was abuzz with a full brass band and the Main Street closed for market stalls.

Have added a video below which you may have seen briefly on my Insta feed, it had over 12k views when I last saw it and then just like that it disappeared for no known reason…..that’s sort of when I gave up on posting to social media, kept a diary and decided to spend my time enjoying the adventure while I was living it.

The Old WoolStore Apartment Hotel

Walked into the apartment to find housekeeping had made my bed, cleaned the bathroom and ever put the plates and cutlery away in the kitchen. Wow I could get used to this.

You can see in this photo (bed no longer up the wall) we worked out how to put Michelles bed into a more comfortable sleeping arrangement. That is a full size single bed looking tiny in the corner.

Great team – I cooked dinner and Michelle attacked my website in our very large kitchen, lounge, dining rooms.
