Artist Statement:
Controlled Spill describes a contradiction. The central accumulation appears managed yet refuses full containment, spreading texture against a ground of orderly stitching and reflective lines. Industrial materials designed to signal safety are reworked into something bodily and unstable .
The work explores the pressure to remain visible, legible and operational, even when exhausted and fragmented. In a working harbour city shaped by labour and logistics, the work silently asks where responsibility ends, what is contained, what is absorbed and what continues to leak despite systems of control.
