Artist Statement:
Agave was created as a private commission for a newly built home, with the clients granting full creative freedom. Drawn to the artist’s sketchbooks, the client requested a work that echoed her intricate line work and botanical themes. The original work, created years prior, was inspired by a visit to Cactus Country on Victoria’s Murray River and featured large tile like leaves, assembled to form a giant succulent.
From this the artist developed ‘Agave’, translating the essence of the original artwork into a single, sculptural wall piece. The final design was hand drawn then computer refined before being professionally cut from 3mm aluminium and powder coasted in a pearl white finish to suit the clients interior.
