Artist Statement:

This work speaks to the layered history of the Australian landscape—its shifting surfaces, buried stories, and the quiet endurance of time. Constructed from thousands of recycled tea bags, each stained and weathered by use, the piece echoes the sedimentary strata of ancient cliffs, riverbanks, and eroded earth. Just as the land holds traces of all who have walked it, these fragile layers capture remnants of human presence—daily rituals steeped in memory. The muted, sun-bleached tones reflect a landscape shaped by time, water, and wind, inviting contemplation on our connection to place and the marks we leave behind.
